One in our collection of antique Nepalese pendants, this piece symbolizes Buddhism’s Turning Wheel, or the eternal cycle of Dharma. The eight characters are taken from Pali script, the original language of the sacred book of Buddhism. On the front, Buddha is shown in his customary meditative pose. On the back, the characters surround an imprint of the Buddha’s foot, symbolizing a mark purposefully left by Buddha to recall his passage over a particular spot.
Set on a 28" adjustable chain.
