- watermelon tourmaline from Madagascar
- Indian purple garnet
- silver lobster clasp
Some necklaces I begin to design in my head the moment I set my eyes on a particular stone. Others, like Peaseblossom, develop over time through various iterations on my design table. I fell in love with the range of pinks and greens in the chunky faceted tourmaline from Madagascar, but I couldn’t find a complementary stone that was just right until I set eyes on this Indian purple garnet. Garnets outside of the red spectrum aren’t something I come across often and this is the first time I found this particular shade. I had designed this not long after the Hermia necklace and have a Titania in the archives, so I continued with the Midsummer Night's Dream theme and named it for the fairy I played in a production once upon a time!
