Named for the Ethiopian Empire of Abyssinia, this necklace has at its center an antique Telsum pendant, or prayer box, which was used in ancient times to guard against the evil eye. Saskia had planned this color combination of soft green and delicate purple while shopping with an Afghan vendor she knows, but had not worked out the design until she placed the Telsum pendant beside the colorful strands. The stamped Thai silver beads and antique Indian flat silver discs give the necklace a powerful old world feeling.
Each necklace uses unique stones and color or shape may vary from piece to piece, making each one as unique as its owner.
